Thanks to an internal promotion, we have a job opening for a Groups and Events Sales Executive who wants to join a loyal, energetic and enthusiastic team.

You will sell groups and events by confirming clients’ enquiries into confirmations. This means that you are able to explore customers’ needs and understand the hotel’s strategy in order to propose customized sales offers. You follow up on requests in order to get client’s confirmations for theirgroups or events at Crowne Plaza Brussels - Le Palace. You will be in charge of securing groups’ and events’ revenue for your client’s portfolio, as well as negotiating contracts, meeting customers and presenting them the hotel’s facilities and services.

Key responsibilities
- Handle in a timely and professional manner all groups and events enquiries, from the initial request till contracting the business, while complying with strategy and inventory guidelines.
- Enter groups and events requests into Opera and send dedicated offers to clients through different channels such as e-offer, MeetingBroker, Cvent, StarCite, etc. Ensure accurate bookings and register all activities and notes of all sales calls.
- Have an excellent understanding of the hotel facilities and services, of its price strategy and business targets.
- Understand local competition and their SWOT versus Crowne Plaza.
- Pro-actively identify customer needs and any other essential information such as budget, competition, history, etc.
- Follow-up actively on offers as per Crowne Plaza guidelines and to up-sell and maximize revenue, while responding to clients’ needs.
- Deliver efficient site inspections, familiarizations visits; customers’ entertainment activities (lunch etc).
- Build strong relationships with customers to maximize return business, including contact with on-site customer during the event and after sales activities.
- Ensure efficient handover of event contracts to Operations. Provide operational support whenever necessary and build an effective communication with the other departments of the hotel.
- Make sure that all procedures for deposit, invoicing and payment are respected and liaise with the Accounting department.
- Understand procedures and capabilities of the Operations team to optimize service delivered to the client and to ensure high profitability for the hotel.
- Perform other tasks whenever required and indicated by the Hotel’s management.

Job Requirements

Ideally you have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the hospitality sector or you have background
in the travel industry. You have excellent communications skills, written & oral proficiency in
English and French. A good knowledge of Dutch is a plus. You have profound computer skills (Windows
and MS Office) and you already worked with Opera Sales & Catering. Other plusses are knowledge of
the Brussels’ hotel market and IHG systems. We want you to know to be results-driven, but also being
customer relationship oriented. You are a team player and you are willing to learn and you can adept
easily to changes.
