Thanks to an internal promotion, we have a job opening for a Director of Business Development who wants to join a loyal, energetic and enthusiastic team.

Job description:
You’ll be an integral member of the hotels management team, providing expertise and direction of all aspects of the Sales and Marketing activities in line with the overall business strategy. You’ll report
directly to the General Manager and supervise the Revenue, Public Relations, Sales, Marketing and Reservations teams. Maintaining Company Brand Standards, performing Market Analysis for your hotel
and the planning, development and implementation of promotional strategies and marketing plans will be key parts of your role. You will mentor and develop the talent of your team and manage, support and supervise the full business development department that incorporates 5 areas of expertise:
- Sales Management and Commercial Actions’ Plan - team of 3 headed by a Senior Sales Account Manager
- Communications (online, offline, internal communication and social media) – 1 Communications Supervisor
- Reservations & Yielding - team of 3 headed by a Reservation& Yield Director
- Groups and Events Sales Management – team of 4 headed by a Groups & Events Sales Director
- Revenue & Distribution Management by ensuring a proactive & results’ oriented way of working with RMC Pandox (Revenue Management Center of owning company Pandox AB); cover Systems/Analytics/Pricing - Inventory Management - Online distribution - Market Intelligence.

Key responsibilities:
- Develops business development plan, strategy and tactics.
- Formulates the hotel’s value proposition, develops the positioning strategy of the hotel
- Defines the hotel’s ideal segmentation, sales, channel and communication mix
- Analyses the different needs of market segments and guest profiles and implements strategies/ programs as appropriate to maximize profitability
- Identifies sources of business available to the hotel and establishes sales & marketing opportunities in solicitation of that business
- Translates competitor intelligence into a working platform in order to develop & maintain a competitive advantage
- Ability to asses market trends and help shape the hotel’s strategy and product development roadmap
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, clients and suppliers.
- Motivate and coach the entire Business Development team.

Accountability:
- Achieve and exceed Total Revenue, net revpar & profit targets.
- Outperform competitive set in RGI, achieve market penetration targets.
- Ensure employee and customer satisfaction.
- Direct Report to General Manager.

- IHG network
- Competition & Institutions and industry related associations.
- Pandox colleagues and area leaders.

Job Requirements


Qualifications:
You have a EU work permit and ideally you have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the hospitality sector. You have excellent communications skills, written & oral proficiency in English and French. A good knowledge of
Dutch is a plus. Other plusses are knowledge of the Brussels’ hotel market and IHG systems. We want you to know your way around numbers, but being customer relationship oriented. And you have what it takes to be a team leader with strong coaching skills. A mindful approach to business leadership - present, positive, enthusiastic, flexible and resilient - is much appreciated.
